The Orbea Arin Rival road bike was first noticed when it was under the angel-of-the-mountains Iban Mayo in the 2004 Dauphine Libere. This Orbea 6000-series aluminum frame was constructed specifically to help Mayo win the 21.6-km time trial up Mont Ventoux that day, which he did win: Mayo regained the lead after the prologue and would then
